- 1 tbsp (15 ml) shortening
- 3 cups (700 ml) finely shredded cabbage
- 1 cup (225 ml) chopped celery
- 1 med green pepper, chopped (use less)
- 1 med. onion, chopped
- 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
- 1/8 tsp (1 ml) pepper
- Heat shortening in skillet.
- Drop in vegetables and stir well.
- Cover tightly and steam 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring several times.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately.
