- Ingredients
- 2 medium cube steaks (tenderized round steak)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) season salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
- salt and peppe, to taste
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) flour
- enough oil to cover bottom of pan
- Gravy:
- 2 cups (475 ml) milk
- 1 cup (225 ml) water
- 4 tbsp (60 ml) flour
- oil steaks were cooked in
- salt and peppe, to taste
- Preparation
- Steaks:
- Rub steaks with season salt on both sides.
- Beat egg and milk together in a shallow bowl.
- Place flour in a separate shallow bowl.
- Drench steaks in egg mixture.
- Dredge steaks in flour mixture.
- Place steaks in frying pan with hot oil.
- Fry 10 minutes on each side or until no longer pink in the middle.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Gravy:
- Mix flour in about 4 tbsp (60 ml) of the grease that steaks were cooked in.
- Blend together over heat until smooth and brown in appearance.
- Add water and milk and stir until it reaches the desired thickness.

recipe. It's never been written, just taught.
Measurements were difficult because we never
measure - just add till it looks right. But I
did cook it with these and it was right.
