Recipe Information
Source:
Susan Peloso

Serves/Makes:12 puffs

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (225 ml) water
  • 1 stick butter ( or margerine)
  • 1 cup (225 ml) flour
  • 4 eggs
Preparation
  • In a saucepan boil the water and butter.
  • Put temperature of stove to low and Add flour, MIX it and make a form of a ball.
  • When a ball is formed turn stove off.
  • Add 1 egg to the ball of dough in the saucepan mix it well so the egg is blended in and then repeat it again 3 more times.
  • THE KEY IS IF YOU PUT ONE EGG AT A TIME AND MIX IT AND DO IT AGAIN IT WILL MAKE THE PUFFS RISE.
  • IF YOU DO NOT MIX THE EGG AT A TIME THEN IT WILL NOT RISE.
  • You want a satin look to your mixture (A shiny look).
  • On a cookie sheet ungreased take a tbsp of the mixer and put it onto the cookie sheet make sure it is about a inch and half to 2 inches apart.
  • Cook in the oven on 375 degrees (200 C.) and cook about 40 to 50 minutes or until lightly brown on top of the puffs.
  • You can make sure it is done but taking a knife and taping the puff to hear a hollow sound.
  • When done take out of oven let it cool and then put your favorite pudding in it.
  • Some people like vanilla others like chocolate or pistachio pudding whichever pleases you.
  • I prefer vanilla myself my sister loves chocolate.
  • Sometimes I buy a candy bar and melt it down and pour it onto the puff after the pudding is in.
  • My guests love it.
Comments
My Grandma Davis use to make this for us when we were young. She gave me the recipe but I also added my own ingredients to it. She passed away while back, but everytime I make them and eat them I think of her and how we came home after school and she had them on the table waiting for us kids to eat, now I am 27 and I still smile. I hope others will enjoy them as I do.
