Sour Cream Apple Pie

Serves/Makes:8

Ingredients
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
  • 2-1/4 cups (525 ml) of Delicious apples (2 or 3 large)
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp (5 ml). vanilla
  • 1 cup (225 ml) sour cream
  • Topping:
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) flour
  • 1/8 cup (30 ml) butter
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml). cinnamon
Preparation
  • Combine sugar and flour.
  • Add egg, vanilla and sour cream.
  • Mix until smooth.
  • Add (sliced and peeled) apples and mix well.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
  • Prepare topping.
  • Mix until crumbly.
  • After pie is baked, sprinkle topping over pie and bake an additional 20 minutes.
