- Ingredients
- 2 tsp (10 ml). cinnamon, 5 tbsp (70 ml). sugar - Mix & set aside.
- 4 cups (950 ml) peeled, sliced apples (good, tart ones)
- 3 cups (700 ml) flour
- 1 cup (225 ml) oil
- 4 eggs
- 2-1/2 tsp (12.5 ml). vanilla
- 2-1/2 cups (600 ml) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) orange juice
- 1 tbsp (15 ml). baking powder
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml). salt
- Preparation
- Mix cake ingredients 4 minutes using mixer.
- Grease & flour bundt or tube pan.
- Pour a layer of batter, then a layer of apples & sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar mixture.
- Alternate layers, ending with a layer of batter 2 more times.
- Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.

- I've been making this cake for 25 years now. Even though I got it by the
name "German" Apple Cake, I'm sure this is the one you're looking for because
I saw the identical recipe just last summer in a magazine & it was called
"Jewish" Apple Cake. Who cares(!) what its called. Its delicious! I also
make this with peaches or with cherries.
