A very dense chocolate cake

Serves/Makes:1 9 x 13 inch pan

Ingredients

• 2 cups (475 ml) flour
• 1 tsp (5 ml). baking soda
• 4 tbsp (60 ml) cocoa
• 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) sugar
• 1 cup (225 ml) mayonnaise
• 1 cup (225 ml) hot water

Preparation

• Grease and flour a 9 inch x 13 inch pan.
• Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 C.).
• Mix all ingredients together.
• Pour into prepared pan.
• Bake for 45 minutes.

My aunt always made this cake for family reunions. She used Miracle Whip and decreased the sugar to 1 cup. This is the original recipe.
