- 8 eggs, separated
- 2 cups (475 ml) sugar
- 1 cup (225 ml) boiling water
- 2-1/4 cups (525 ml) sifted flour
- 3 tsp (15 ml) baking powder
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
- Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
- Add 1 cup (225 ml) of the sugar and the boiling water.
- Add flour and beat until smooth, do not underbeat.
- Add egg whites and rest of the sugar and beat until foamy.
- Add this mixture to the egg yolk mixture.
- Pour in tube pan and bake at 325 degrees (175 C.) for 1 hour.
