- 1/2 cup (125 ml) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) yellow cornmeal
- 1 tsp (5 ml) baking powder
- Dash pepper
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) milk
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) cooking oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, cheddar cheese, cornmeal, baking powder, and pepper.
- Combine beaten egg, milk, and oil.
- Add to flour mixture, stir with a fork just till combined.
- Use in stews, soups.
- Might be good in Hungarian Goulash.
