- Ingredients
- 4 cups (950 ml) thinly sliced green tomatoes
- 1 cup (225 ml) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tsp (5 ml) ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp (7 ml) ground cloves
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) flour
- one 9 inch unbaked pie shell and top crust
- Preparation
- Sprinkle flour over the bottom of pie shell.
- Layer sliced tomatoes into shell
- Mix sugars, lemon juice and spices together
- Pour over tomatoes and dot with butter
- Cover with top crust
- Bake in a preheated oven set at 450 degrees (225 C.) for 15 minutes then
- reduce the temperature to 375 degrees (200 C.) and bake an additional 30 minutes
