- Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lbs (.7 kg). lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) Heinz tomato ketchup
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
- 1/8 tsp (1 ml) pepper
- Preparation
- Thoroughly combine all ingredients except ketchup.
- Form into a loaf and place in 8 inch x 4 inch shallow pan
- Bake in 350 degree (175 C.) oven for 45 minutes
- Spread top with ketchup.
- Bake 15 minutes longer.
- Let stand 5 minutes before slicing
