- Ingredients
- 2 cups (475 ml) sugar
- 2 cups (475 ml) flour
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) salt
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) buttermilk
- 1 tsp (5 ml) soda
- 3 Tbsp (45 ml) Cocoa
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 stick oleo
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) shortening
- 1 cup (225 ml) coke
- for the Icing:
- 1 stick oleo
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) cocoa
- 6 tbsp (90 ml) coke
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 cup (225 ml) chopped nuts (optional)
- Preparation
- Mix first 7 ingredients, for cake, then heat next 4 and add gradually into first mixture. Grease 13 x 9 inch pan and cover bottom with 2 cups (475 ml) miniature marshmallows. Pour batter over that. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 35-45 minutes. Pour icing over warm cake.
- FOR THE ICING:
- Heat oleo,cocoa,coke and vanilla; pour over the powdered sugar and mix. Add nuts. Cool, cut and serve.
