- 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter, melted
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 pint buttermilk
- 1 tsp (5 ml) sugar
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
- 1 lb (.5 kg) self-rising flour
- Add butter and egg to buttermilk.
- Mix well then add dry ingredients.
- Mix to soft dough.
- Turn out on floured surface.
- Knead lightly.
- Cut off pieces of dough and flatten by hand.
- Prick with fork.
- Bake at 400 degrees (200 C.) F. 10 to 15 minutes.
- NOTE: Knead dough as little as possible.
