- I make these all the time. We love them. Usually they stick together pretty well on their own. Maybe your mashed potatoes aren't moist enough. I have heard that a beaten well egg mixed with the potatoes would solve the problem. We cook them in a little bit of butter and they get very brown and crisp on the outside, warm and good inside.
