- Prickly Pear
Serves/Makes:1 1/2 cups or more
- 1 cup (225 ml) soy sauce
- 3/4 cup (175 ml) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sake (Japanese rice wine)
- 3 or more cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp (5 ml) fresh ginger, grated
- Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
- Store in refrigerator, tightly covered.
- Can be used for marinating meats for grilling or stir-frying. Meat should be marinated for several hours in the refrigerator prior to cooking.
