Corned Beef and Cabbage

Serves/Makes:6 or more

Ingredients
  • 4-1/2 lbs (2 kg). corned beef brisket
  • 2 medium onions, quartered
  • 1 cabbage head, cut in small chunks
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) pepper
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) vinegar
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) sugar
  • 2 cups (475 ml) water
Preparation
  • Combine ingredients in removable liner with cabbage on top.
  • Cut meat to fit, cut cabbage into chunks.
  • Place liner in base.
  • Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours; high 6-7 hours or auto 6-8 hours.
