Serves/Makes:8 pie crusts approx.
- Ingredients
- 8 cups (1900 ml) sifted flour
- 4 tsp (20 ml) salt
- 2 cups (475 ml) shortening
- Preparation
- Cut shortening into sifted flour and salt.
- Store in covered container on pantry self or refrigerator.
- Use 2 cups (475 ml) per pastry, adding approximately 7 tbsp (100 ml) water for two crust pie.
- Cheese:
- To 2 cups (475 ml) pastry base, cut in 1/2 cup (125 ml) grated cheese. Then follow plain pastry recipe.
- Orange:
- To 2 cups (475 ml) plain pastry base, substitute orange juice for the water to be added.
