- Ingredients
- 1 lb (.5 kg) ground chicken
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 lb (.2 kg) mushrooms, diced
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) tarragon
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter
- 6 sheets phyllo dough
- Preparation
- Brown ground chicken and onion in oil.
- Add seasonings and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms soften. Drain.
- Stir in parsley.
- Melt butter.
- Keep phyllo sheets between damp cloths so they will not dry out.
- Lay two sheets on another damp cloth and brush top sheet with butter.
- Lay two more sheets on these and brush with butter.
- Top with remaining two sheets and brush with butter.
- Spoon chicken mixture along the third of the sheet closest to you.
- Using cloth underneath, roll up jelly roll fashion and shift onto greased baking sheet.
- Brush top with remaining butter.
- Bake in 375 degree (200 C.) oven 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
