- 3 cups (700 ml) gooseberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (225 ml) sugar
- 5 saltine crackers, crushed
- 5 tbsp (70 ml) margarine, melted
- 1/8 tsp (1 ml) salt
- 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust
- crust for lattice top
- Combine gooseberries, egg, sugar, crackers, margarine and salt.
- Spoon into prepared pie crust.
- Top with lattice top and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake at 400 degrees (200 C.) for 45 minutes.
