- Ingredients
- 2 lbs (.9 kg). tomatoes, peeled, cut into pieces
- 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
- 1/8 tsp (1 ml) pepper
- 2 tsp (10 ml) sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) finely minced onion, optional
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) finely minced green bell pepper, optional
- Preparation
- Place tomatoes in a medium saucepan; cover tightly.
- Cook tomatoes over lowest heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
