Noodle Kugel - Sweet noodle pudding

Mom's recipe

  • 1 cup (225 ml) sugar
  • 1 lb (.5 kg). medium noodles, cooked
  • 1 lb (.5 kg). small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) vanilla
  • 1/4 butter, melted
  • 1 cup (225 ml) white raisins
  • 7 eggs
  • 3 cups (700 ml) milk
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) corn flake crumbs
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) sugar
  • 1 teasponn cinnamin
  • Mix all ingredients (except topping) in a large bowl.
  • Pour in Pyrex dish.
  • Put in fridge for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • Make sure there is a lot of loose juice around the noodles.
  • When ready to bake, mix toppings and put on top of kugel, then dot with butter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 1 1/2 hours, until golden brown.
