Serves/Makes:3 dozen

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup (225 ml) Sugar
  • 1 cup (225 ml) margarine
  • 1 Cup (225 ml) Oil
  • 1 Cup (225 ml) Sugar
  • 1 Cup (225 ml) Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml). Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp (5 ml). Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml). salt
  • 1 tsp (5 ml). Baking Soda
  • 4 cups (950 ml) plus 4 TBS (60 ml) Flour
Preparation
  • Use electric mixer.
  • Mix margarine and oil until soft.
  • Gradually add sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, sift or mix flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt.
  • Add to sugar and egg mixture.
  • Roll in small balls.
  • Roll balls in sugar.
  • Flatten with a glass (dip glass bottom in sugar to keep from sticking).
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees (200 C.) for about 12 minutes.
Comments
This are one of my favorites. Delicious, but fattening! It's impossible to eat just one! Another great taste is to roll them in cinnamon sugar.
