- Hot and Spicy Chex Party Mix
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) margarine or butter*
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1-1/4 tsp (6 ml) seasoned salt
- 2 to 3 tsp (15 ml) red pepper sauce
- 3 cups (700 ml) Corn Chex cereal
- 3 cups (700 ml) Rice Chex cereal
- 3 cups (700 ml) Wheat Chex cereal
- 1 cup (225 ml) mixed nuts
- 1 cup (225 ml) pretzels
- 1 cup (225 ml) bite-size cheese crackers
- Preparation
- Heat oven to 250 . Melt margarine in large roasting pan in oven.
- Stir in seasonings.
- Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
- Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
- Prepares 11 cups (2600 ml) snack.
- *Do not use spread or tub products.
- Microwave Directions:
- Melt margarine in large microwavable bowl uncovered on High.
- Stir in seasonings.
- Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
- Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes.
- Spread on paper towels to cool.
- Store in airtight container.
- Important: Because microwaves cook differently, time is approximate.

- 1 serving (1/2 cup): 120 calories (60 calories from fat); 7 g fat (1 g saturated fat); 0 mg cholesterol; 310 mg sodium; 14 g carbohydrate (1 g dietary fiber); 2 g protein.
