Serves/Makes:1 large cake

Ingredients
  • 3 sticks butter (not margarine)
  • 3 cups (700 ml) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) whiskey
  • 8 large eggs
  • 3 cups (700 ml) sifted cake flour
Preparation
  • Cream together well the butter and sugar.
  • Add 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla and whiskey.
  • Add eggs one at a time while beating batter.
  • Fold in the sifted cake flour.
  • Pour into tube or large Bundt pan.
  • Cook in a preheated 350 degree (175 C.) oven for about 90 minutes.
Comments
This recipe is from the 70s. Simple ingrediants. You can leave out the whiskey if desired, just double the vanilla or add another flavoring. Lemon extract would be nice.
