- Shortbread cookie with Black Walnuts

Serves/Makes:3 dozen or more
- Ingredients
- 1 cup (225 ml) real butter
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp (5 ml). real vanilla
- 2 cups (475 ml) flour
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml). salt
- 1 small pkg. black walnuts, chopped finely
- powdered sugar, for rolling
- Preparation
- Mix together butter, powdered sugar, salt, vanilla and nuts.
- Add flour to wet ingredients and mix well.
- Roll into small walnut size balls.
- Bake at 400 degrees (200 C.) until only light golden in color.
- Allow to cool and set for about five minutes.
- While still a little warm roll the balls in the powdered sugar.
- When completely cool roll balls in the powdered sugar again
- Store in an air tight container.
- Comments
- Some people like to use pecans in their recipes but I prefer using black walnuts.They give the taste a little more kick.
