- Ingredients
- 1 lb (.5 kg). lean steak mince
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
- 2 oz (56 grm). unsalted butter
- 1 tsp (5 ml). chopped chiles (according to taste)
- 1 14 oz (392 grm). cooked red kidney beans
- 1 14 oz (392 grm). chopped tomatoes
- 1 14 oz (392 grm). haricot beans in sauce (baked beans)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml). concentrated tomato puree
- 1 tsp (5 ml). Worcestershire sauce
- 1 beef stock cube
- Preparation
- Brown the mince in a very hot pan - drain fluid and set aside.
- Saute onions in the butter with the garlic and chillis.
- Once the onions are soft, add the mince and tomatoes.
- Bring to a simmer and add the remaining ingredients (no additional fluid should be needed).
- Cook at a simmer for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Comments
- This is a really tasty recipe for chili that is slightly different from the usual. My kids love this.
