Made with oats instead of pecans

Serves/Makes:1 pie

  • 1 9 inch unbaked pie crust
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup (225 ml) dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup (225 ml) white sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup (225 ml) rolled oats
  • Beat the eggs.
  • Stir in melted butter, syrup, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly.
  • Stir in oats.
  • Pour filling into crust.
  • Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 35 to 40 minutes.
