Serves/Makes:5 pints

  • 5 quarts (4725 ml) of apple sauce(fresh is best)
  • 5 cups (1175 ml) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vinegar
  • 3 tsp (15 ml) cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) cloves
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) allspice
  • Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and boil down til thickened or bake 225 degrees (100 C.) for 3 hours.
  • Mixture will be thick and brown.
  • Seal in jars with a 5 minute water bath.
