Ingredients
  • 8 eggs, separated
  • 2 cups (475 ml) sugar
  • 1 cup (225 ml) boiling water
  • 2-1/4 cups (525 ml) sifted flour
  • 3 tsp (15 ml) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
Preparation
  • Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
  • Add 1 cup (225 ml) of the sugar and the boiling water.
  • Add flour and beat until smooth, do not underbeat.
  • Add egg whites and rest of the sugar and beat until foamy.
  • Add this mixture to the egg yolk mixture.
  • Pour in tube pan and bake at 325 degrees (175 C.) for 1 hour.
