Boiled Peanuts

  • 2 cups (475 ml) raw peanuts in the shell
  • 4 cups (950 ml) water
  • 1-1/2 tsp (7 ml) salt
  • Place peanuts in large saucepan.
  • Add water and salt.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 25 minutes.
  • When done the kernel should have swollen to fill the pod well.
  • Drain.
  • Serve hot in the shell or cold.
