Serves/Makes:1 pie

  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry pie shell
  • 1-1/4 cups (300 ml) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) flour
  • 2 cups (475 ml) buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter or margarine
  • Mix sugar and flour.
  • Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, and vanilla.
  • Melt the butter over low heat.
  • Add to buttermilk mixture and mix well.
  • Pour into pie crust and bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 35 - 40 minutes.
