spoons of cornbread fried in pan covered in cooking oil or melted shortening

Serves/Makes:use ratio

  • 1 part white cornmeal (med ground)
  • 1/3 part self rising flour
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • sugar
  • buttermilk
  • Just mix and spoon into hot grease-keep turning-place on paper towels to absorb excess grease/if we are doing an oyster roast or clam bake, we add pork cracklings to the batter.
