Serves/Makes:Makes 3 - 9x13 in. cakes
- Ingredients
- Put 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) starter juice
- 2-1/2 cups (600 ml) sugar
- 1 large can sliced peaches with juice in a gallon jar with a tight fitting lid (stir dailing)
- On day 10 1/2 add:
- 2-1/2 cups (600 ml) sugar and 1 large can crushed pineapple with juice (Stir daily)
- On day 20 1/2 add:
- 2 - 9 ozs. bottles of Marachino cherries (without juice) stir daily
- On day 30: Drain fruit (save for cake)
- Save starter juice. It will make 3 starter of 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) each Keep one and the other 2 to friends.
- DO NOT REFRIGERATE THIS ABOVE MIXTURE. This is your starter.
- Friendship Cake Recipe:
- 1-1/2 cups (350 ml) fruit from starter
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix that has pudding in mix.
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup (150 ml) oil
- 1 cup (225 ml) chopped nuts
- Preparation
- Mix all ingredients well.
- Bake in 9x13 inch cake pan that has been greased and floured.
- Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees (175 C.).
- You should have enough to make 3 cakes at a time.

- This was given to me years ago. It is really a very moist tasty cake.
