Bread Pudding - Bread & Butter Pudding

  • 8 thick slices bread
  • 3 oz (84 grm) butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups (475 ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) currants
  • nutmeg
  • Butter bread with butter.
  • Place in baking dish.
  • Beat eggs, add milk and sugar.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Add currants, sprinkle with nutmeg.
  • Let stand 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 1 hour.
This is an old recipe. You may use raisins if you prefer.
