Serves/Makes:1 cup

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) dairy sour cream
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) mayonnaise(can use low fat)
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) of prepared mustard
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • Combine all ingredients in small saucepan.
  • Cook and stir over very low heat until heated through.
  • Pour over vegetable of choice.
This version is made without the usual egg yolks, but it is just as acceptable. Adapted from BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS ENCLYCLOPEDIA of COOKING
