Serves/Makes:1 loaf

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (225 ml) Grapenuts cereal
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups (475 ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 cups (700 ml) sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
  • 4 tsp (20 ml) baking powder
Preparation
  • Mix the Grapenuts, egg and milk.
  • Let stand for one hour to soften the Grapenuts.
  • Add sugar and then the sifted dry ingredients.
  • Mix well.
  • Bake in a greased bread pan in a 375 degree (200 C.) oven for about 45 minutes.
