Serves/Makes:1 1/2 cups or more

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (225 ml) soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) sake (Japanese rice wine)
  • 3 or more cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) fresh ginger, grated
Preparation
  • Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  • Store in refrigerator, tightly covered.
Comments
Can be used for marinating meats for grilling or stir-frying. Meat should be marinated for several hours in the refrigerator prior to cooking.
