Oklahoma Cookin' 1976

  • 2-1/2 cups (600 ml) sugar
  • 2/3 cup (150 ml) white corn syrup
  • 1 cup (225 ml) evaporated milk
  • 3 cups (700 ml) raw Spanish peanuts
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) butter
  • red food coloring (optional)
  • Mix sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts together.
  • Cook over low heat for 1 hour.
  • Add butter and vanilla and beat until creamy.
  • Add red food coloring, if desired, while beating.
  • Spoon out on wax paper to form patties.
