Serves/Makes:1 lb.

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) water
  • 1 lb (.5 kg). shelled nuts
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt (optional)
  • Beat egg white and water until frothy.
  • Add nuts and stir.
  • In a bowl, mix sugar, cinnamon and salt (if using).
  • Add egg white covered nuts and stir until coated.
  • Spread in a single layer on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 225 degrees (100 C.) for 1 hour--stirring every 15 minutes.
Received this recipe in 1982.
