  • 8 medium size potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) onion finaly chopped
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) cubed ham
  • milk
  • Put potatoes, butter, salt, pepper, onions and ham into large saucepan.
  • Add enough milk to pan so that there is about 1 inch over the top.
  • Simmer on low heat for 1 hour. Do not cover as milk will foam up and boil over.
  • Stir often to avoid sticking.
