Saving candy canes for decoration from one year to the next

virginia lewis

  • leftover candy canes
  • pint jar of clear verathane varnish
  • 1 can aresol hair spray
  • I have taken the candy canes from the tree and dipped them in clear verathane (a varnish), hung them out to dry over newspaper and then put them away.
  • Another way is to hair spray them and then dip them in verathane. This seems to work the best.
