Serves/Makes:4 or more

Ingredients
  • 1 lb (.5 kg). ground round
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) plain bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) grape jelly
  • 1 cup (225 ml) chili sauce
  • 1 lb (.5 kg). ground round
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup (175 ml) plain bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) grape jelly
  • 1 cup (225 ml) chili sauce
Preparation
  • With a fork or clean hands,combine the meat,egg,bread crumbs,salt,and pepper,then shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Melt the butter in a large saute pan, brown the meatballs, drain off fat.
  • In a bowl,stir together the jelly and chili sauce and pour over the meatballs.
  • Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes over medium to low heat,turning regularly.
  • Keep warm in chafing dish and serve them to guest and family with toothpicks and cocktail napkins.
